Courier Pigeons

Courier pigeons, well homing pigeons actually. But still.

I don't even want to have to sell this one. They are amazing creatures. In Europe eccentric rich people still use them I hear. And sometimes pay upwards of half a million euro for them. They are that good. They wear these rad little bracelets on their legs. They can go almost two thousand miles and they use the earth's magnetic field somehow. Just plain rad. In World War One a French homing pigeon got a medal of honor for carrying ten important messages despite being shot down. Shot down! (I went to a special exhibit in the Paris postal museum dedicated to them.)

You can read all about them here.

Altho' I can't be sure how, I am sure, much like the bike messenger revitalization of the mid-90's, there is some niche market for these little fellas.

Bring back the courier pigeon! And pay them a living wage!
