Spirit Quest

When I was a kid there were these toys that were sort of human shaped animals in batter armour and each one had a heat-activated square on their chest. When you activated said square using heat it would reveal which "team" they were on (water, fire & earth, I think). I am fairly sure it had something to do with astrology and possibly the Chinese Zodiac. Suffice it to say it is the birthplace of this idea.

Altho' neither you nor I have a heat-activated square anywhere on our bodies that reveals our true nature, I think it'd be pretty interesting to give some thought to that true nature. In metaphor form!

Think real hard about this and pick a spirit animal. And then research that animal. And then think about all of the things that make you like that animal, all the positives and negatives. Create metaphorical predators. Probably you should buy a shirt or a necklace that features this animal and wear it proudly. What you should not do is enact any of the animals more...animal traits. No growling and what not.

You all should know by now that I believe in the power of metaphor. Seems to me this would involves you figuring out some things about yourself and how it is you perceive yourself in the world. And as an added bonus you get to learn a lot about an animal that you are bound to have some vested interest in. And we all know...knowledge is power! (Imagine a cheesy 80's 'the more you know' type segment theme music cutting in there.)

Further extensions to this idea (ie. bonus points) could include the use of a spirit guiding person and psycho-tropic substances. If nothing else maybe you could consider a steam tent and some fasting. Visions are highly recommended.
