There is such a thing as revisionist history. Essentially, and this a ridiculous Reader's Digest version of what rev-hist is, this is taking an event for which there is a common understanding and presenting new evidence or a new perspective that somehow shifts that common understanding. It may never take off globally, but it's a new way to look at something generally considered canon.
Today is a suggestion to take the same approach to events in your own life. More specifically, one event. Maybe it's one where you didn't come out looking so good. Or maybe you did but didn't deserve it. I don't care what you pick. But the idea is to take a story or tale that creates the sum of you and turn it on its head. There is danger in this, to be sure. If story A is interpreted differently then am I still who I am? It gets deep.
I think the value here is that you'll suddenly find yourself more understanding of those who were on the other side of that story, good or bad. By evaluating your own actions and the outcomes, you may come to see new themes and threads throughout the rest of your life. And perspective has value. That is something I believe.
The hard part is believing what you are telling yourself. You need to believe it for it to have any effect. It simply isn't enough to outwardly present yourself as a changed entity. The real you will remain inside plotting, scheming.
