Correspondence Box

I did this recently and have been really happy with it.

You need a cigar box, or possibly a shoe box. Cigar boxes are nice because they're small and can be tucked away more easily than a shoe box, and you can get one for about a dollar.

Fill the box with envelopes, stationary, thank you notes, stamps, pens, an address book, and anything else you might need to write a letter.

Keep it by your bed or your desk or wherever you think you might feel the impulse to correspond with someone. I think people really like getting letters. I know I do.

Getting everything together in advance takes all the hard steps out of it. Like finding stamps or people's addresses. This is a little silly and simplistic but you can make folks happy by taking 5 minutes to send a letter instead of an email or a text.
