If you don't play fantasy sports, you can probably stop reading. If you wanted to, anyway.
I had this thought while reading someones "7 Fantasy Football Draft Tips", over at the s-pin. This specific tip is about the receivers and who you should draft.
Basically, I think you want consistency. For example, would you want a guy who scores 160 points a week by having 30 points in week one, followed up by 2 points, 3 points, 1 point, and so on....or would you rather have a dude who scores, 10, 9, 11, etc? Me, I'm going for the steady guy.
I think this applies more to the later rounds. In the early rounds you can get players who score 30 and then follow it up with a 20 and a 22. But as you get down to the bottom of the barrel, you don't want to draft a guy who might be sitting on your bench when he scores a big number, only to get in the lineup and score a big fat zero.
Here's the thing: big weeks totally skew season stats to the point that you can't even tell how legit a performer he is.
Now, I'm not going to do the research for you. Again, this site is just for the idea. Plus, I'm wicked lazy.
