This made it into a post before. But not like this it didn't. Nate is...well on point. I've said several things about Nate before that for whatever reason he took to heart. First that he is my best drinking buddy. And second that he has changed his life. I meant that. I mean it still. It's impressive. And it will be again. I don't want to be all too hyperbolic in saying this, but there is a sense in which this blog's very inception has a lot to do with Nate. Nate is at heart an idea man. That isn't to say so much that he doesn't complete his projects, he does have a 7 foot tall chair and a CD wall. That point is more that--like this blog--he has idea regardless of their ability to be realistically completed. And he has them often and well. Of course you know that already tho:
I have absolutely zero, and I mean zero, musical ability. None, less than none, if that's possible. But I know that a musical based on The Karate Kid would grab the world by its heart and shake it like a paint can. You know it would be good. Right now you're thinking that it might not be, but if you really think about it, you'll come around. Being that I have no ability in the sonic world, I have only rough ideas, but...
I almost think that this might make a better movie than a stage production, more sequels that way, but I'm willing to negotiate.
Claire Daines needs to be in it somewhere, probably the female lead. I'd like to see some of the other original cast members make appearances too.
I know that there's a love song duet number with Daniel and what's her name - It's called "With Karate On My Side". No lyrics yet, but there will be dancing and the big finish will be him singing in the foreground and her in the background both singing, "with Karate on my side..."
There's got to be a big dinner scene. I know that there wasn't in the move, but we'll make it work. The reason we need dinner is for dishes, chop sticks, bowls, plates, glasses, etc. I'm picturing a whole stomp-like scene with percussion played by everyone in the room. This will probably be right before intermission. Something to get the crowd drinking during the break.
I'd like to do some sort of fight song with Cobra Kai and them prepping for the big tournament, but with the guy who played Johnny playing the instructor now. All of the eighties stars are doing Broadway now.
The big finish will be a big ensemble number after the tournament. Big finish, huge. I'm not sure how big, but really big. Like expand the stage big. Big. The last thing you see will be the spotlight zooming in on Daniel's new black belt with the words "the" and "end" written on the ends of the belt.
