Whimsy

I'm in a joking mood today I guess. And one of my coworkers was just telling a slighlty funny story about a prank phone call they received.

Anyway, this is an idea I've had for a while that might make people laugh. Or they might just think yer crazy.

So you buy three or four front row tickets to an A's game along either baseline. Don't sit in them though, just hang out with some friends where you can see the jumbotron. When it gets to be time for dot racing head down to your seats and start waving slips of paper around that look like betting receipts. And maybe a racing forum, too.

Just get really excited and then have one person get excited that their "horse" won, while the other members of your team would look dejected, tear up their slips, etc.

If you wanted, you could even wear 1920's period dress to further make the whole experience more surreal for those standing around.

You could do this at any sporting even with dot racing, but as far as I know, Oakland is the only one repping it.

I don't know if this is a practical joke or a complete waste of time but that is a fine, fine line that sounds fun to walk.
