New Media

I want someone to think about making a form of art that doesn't exist. I have no idea what that means. But there has to be something new to be had still. And I would like whoever figures this out to do so without it being related to high-tech.

I guess things are being done like this in the art world. If you look at Andy Goldsworthy, he has pretty much invented a new form of art. He does things in nature and they are eaten by nature. Sure we viewers engage with it through photographs or video, but the art itself is out there in the world. Oh and there was that guy I heard of that like built this underground mountain thing where you walk through and he's like cut holes in the tops of tunnels such that light effects the spaces in interesting ways.

This is really a call to something like conceptual art I think. Like you could make your life art by being a certain way in the world. Like a con artist might actually be an artist if the con is good enough and goes on long enough.

Or you could somehow change the world through minute actions you take throughout the entire course of your life. Like always leaving behind a trail of breadcrumbs. Or what if you had a string or a can of paint that followed you around forever. And then the path you'd taken your whole life would be tracked across the physical world. That would be art.

So be art you. Be it. Now.

Oh...and fuck the audience.
