A friend tipped me off that my original thought would be a good idea, but then I'm also going to expand on it a little bit.
The original idea was to add "retire" to my to-do list on my last day of work ever. And then I could check it off, walk out the door, and be done with it.
Well, to expand on that, how about just keeping a few easy goals on your to-do list all the time? Things like, "have lunch" would mix right in there with "make sales calls to people I don't want to call."
You don't even have to make this work specific. Say you've got a shit-ton* of errands to run on a Sunday. Well, add "wake up" to the list. Look, you already accomplished something!
Yeah, ok, this is a little bit of sandbagging, but so what, you deserve it.
*1 shit-ton= 10 fuck-loads.
