Medical stuff would only be one part of it. A very small part.
Here's the deal: Take one year of high school and devote it to subjects like CPR, basic auto care, how to balance a check book. You know, life skills. Drop all the heavy learning (though maybe these could be electives) and focus on the stuff that you'll use on a regular basis.
I'm just saying, it's a little scary how many people can't change a tire. And have also forgotten algebra.
