Provide your own commentary

I hate most sports announcing teams. Even the really, really good ones aren't that great.

They say dumb stuff, they whine, they're wrong a lot. You can see why it's sometimes tedious to listen.

So what are your options? Well, you can listen to the game on the radio (usually, but it isn't ever much better) or you can turn the sound off. Ugh.

I want a live youtube style commentary system. Anyone can do commentary for a game. Two guys. One guy. A room of gamblers. Whatever. You get to pick what you listen to, and if you don't like it, just pick a different "channel". This would start off slow and might start best as a fan driven regional site. Especially for a team that had really crappy announcers and everyone hated them. You'd get a lot of people who would want to try their hand at it.

The interface of the site could pretty much be anything. I think this would work best if you had to turn the audio off on the tv, and then turn the audio on via a computer. Another option would be show the game on the computer, but you might run into copyright laws and TV on the internet isn't quite what it's going to be. So I like the two part system. TV on with the sound off, computer on with the sound up.

The more popular channels would get listed first, same as with a search engine.

And I don't think the networks or teams could do anything to stop this. You aren't reproducing the game, and maybe they wouldn't care. I mean, you're still watching it, right?
