This could be an actual wall calendar, or just stored in a blackberry-type device.
But the calendar reminds you to get in touch with those people you don't always think to call. Maybe it's a friend you see once a month or every couple of weeks or whatever, but it's for the people you want to stay in touch with even though it doesn't seem to happen organically.
So if it's a wall calendar, you'd just write, "Call Dwayne" or "Make plans with Susan" on the appropriate day of each month (or however often you wanted to contact Dwayne and Susan). That way you could just forget all about them until you saw the calendar.
I firmly believe there are people worth spending time with who require a little effort. This is just a handy way to keep it all organized.
Just don't let your friends see it. No one wants to know they get called less than someone else.

i want to set up rotating catch phrase emails, either for specific people, groups of friends or every friend ever. They'd be general and each slightly different. Like: "hey dude, just checking in. what's up with you. I'm great. call me" or for the spanish set of friends "oye cabron te extrano mucho. llama me". And then those can be auto emailed out on regular intervals (or pre set special occasions), but it wouldn't look like a mass email. wonder how long it'd take people to discover their friend was a super lazy lame-o.
