Coed

If we had labels, and we really should, this would need to get filed under: no one cares. No one that is, except me.

I'm proposing the start of a new basketball league. Not the NBA or the WNBA, but the Coed National Basketball Association.

I was watching some of the Stanford women's team and they're really good. But then these great players go to the WNBA and unfortunately no one cares. I think people should care, but they don't. The WNBA hasn't caught on the way some folks thought it would. Though it is going strong, so who cares what "some people" think.

ANYWAY!

The league would be men and women obviously, with the rule that two women had to be on the court at all times. I think you'd draw a lot of recently retired NBA players so the season would have to be short. Maybe 30 games? And then you'd draw a bunch of fringe guys who couldn't make it in the NBA and didn't want to go to Europe. Same with the women. I think the quality of play would be decent and that the novelty would catch a few folks. Plus, you could use the two or three month season to fill in some of that dead time.

Ok, so when are tryouts?
