Some of them call me Trouble, some of them call me Trixie...and admittedly, I've been known as "Unicorn" too...(you can ask Messenger and NowEverybody about their reasoning behind that!) Today, I bring you a fresh idea right out of the oven. Mmmmm goooeeeyyy.... Enjoy!
---Before you think I’m going to get all “Matrix” on your ass, hear me out for a second.
So, the earth is in peril, right? And we’re supposed to recycle, compost, bike, and plant gardens to save our bodies from the impending hell that our planet will apparently become, right? Now, I love the idea of living in harmony with our environment, and not causing any harm to the being from which we all came…but I also have to try to live my life. Sometimes getting up at 6am and
walking to work in the freezing dark makes me want to murder things. So I’ve started driving.
The point of this is: we need practical remedies for the problems we’ve caused ourselves that will absolutely not make us feel like we are being deprived of the luxuries we’ve convinced ourselves we deserve.
The cure for what ails us???
Harness the energy of humans.
We’ve done it with the sun, we do it with the wind, we do it with the water…now it is our turn to step up to the plate. What I am proposing is a simple, sleek, and perhaps even chic device that we can wear on our wrist to capture the energy that we produce through movement. I’m thinking of something that looks like one of those snap-bracelets I used to wear when I was six, but maybe a little wider. It would be totally comfy (and there could be designer versions of it too!!) and easy to wear. I know that something like this is possible because they sell battery-free watches that sustain themselves off of movement! Steal that technology, fellow citizens of earth! Be a renegade and use it to benefit us all!!
This idea came to me at the gym, thinking about how I am going to all ends of effort in the attempt to GET RID of my energy. I wish I could just donate it to some charity rather than to the elliptical machine. Imagine all the people working out, running, or just going about their daily lives. There would be a way to collect the energy and use it at your own house or to donate it to the grid. You could stick these bracelets on dog and cat collars. On racehorses. On cars!
The science behind this is fuzzy, yes, but wouldn’t it be cool? Then we could all feel better about buying wine in glass bottles, and get on with our lives.
