It's an umbrella, but rather than just repel rain, it would actually catch it like Willie Mays. It would look like a regular umbrella, but the top is different. Maybe this will help:
It would look a little bit like that, if that wasn't a bad picture of a black hole, but actually an umbrella. The bulk of this thing would be the same, but the top would feed into the handle and down through some filters and into the handle, which has a bottle on it. One that can be screwed on and off. I'm imagining the whole circumfrence of the collector part (on the top) to be about the size of a dinner plate. That would allow lots of rain to filter in, but not make the whole thing so weirdly shaped that you felt dumb for carrying it.
And yeah, how awesome am I for coming up with this immediately after it's stopped raining. So awesome. That's how awesome.
