Day One

Today I'm interested in how people get going on things they intend to do. I am perpetually at the whim of my own laziness. Especially when it comes up against my disparate plans for doing. EG the fact that I want to do too many things leaves me with the energy to do none.

So, plans of attack. How do people do things? My idea today is a strategy for doing so.

Little commitments is the thing I've come up with. Little commitments that accumulate and accrete. And the neat thing about what I'm thinking is that you don't even have to really make a plan for the accumulation and accretion. No. You just have to pick something to do that you can do every day (or every other day or whatever it needs to be - like if it is running and running twice a week is doable, then do that).

Point being, pick something that you can actually do on the time scale you've set. And then always do it. I mean, small as you like, just do it. Make sure it is def something you can do. And if you can't fail you can start carving out the time and the effort.

And if you're doing something every day (or whatever) eventually if you aren't stepping it up, you might wonder why you're doing it at all. Use that. That is powerful. Cause that means you need to accrete. And if you aren't, then you may quit. And you said you wouldn't quit. So don't quit.

And eventually you'll rule the world. That's what we're doing here. See? Easy, huh?
