Parent's Weekend

The proximity to Mother's Day is puerly coincidental.

So, you know how Summer Camps had parent's days where the parents would come and see all the stupid crafts you made? I think those were/ are pretty cool, and should come back for adults.

A lot of my grown-up friends don't live near their parents and don't get to see them that often. So I think that major cities should host Parent's Weekends. Pick a time that isn't heaviliy visited, offer some discounted hotel stays, gear a big festival to parents and their adult kids and have at it.

The city would turn a slow tourism weekend into a busier one, the kids would have activities to do with their parents while in town, the parents would have an excuse to come...it works for everyone.

Another byproduct of this is that parents might get to meet the parents of their friends. It would probably be a little awkward, but still kind of cool.

Businesses could evern get in on it and have the last part of the Friday be "Bring your Parents to Work Day." How many parents of kids in New York have seen where their offspring work?

I'm into this. Get me city hall on the phone.

Hello? Gavin?

No, I can hold.
