Today's idea is to have a buddy who you only communicate with via text or email. Like, 99% of the time. Maybe you get together every year or so but no more than that. And try to communicate as much as possible. Every day if you can.
Why do this?
It's probably different than any other relationship you have going. And you'll be able to ask questions of them you might not be able to ask your regular friends. There's definitely an upside*. It's like an all the time pen pal.

I actually have one of these - I adopted an older brother forever ago, and it works out pretty well.
