I had thought doing photo essays was way more complicated than it turns out they are. Basically, the only real requirement is that it be a series of photos that tells a story or has some sort of overarching point. That sounds pretty easy. There can be words involved, but there doesn't have to be.
The idea today is to think of a story you'd like to tell via pictures (with or without words), and have at it. Maybe it's some sort of what-you-do-in-the-day-to-day thing, to send to the parents back home. Maybe you have some social commentary you need to get off your chest and annoy everyone with.
This could be a really fun art project, and one that is cheap and not time consuming. And one that could be done solo, or en masse.
Once you've taken some pictures, and maybe started to forumlate some captions in that pretty little head of yours, you should probably decide on a medium. The internet/ blog avenue is a good and cheap one. You could print out hard copies and put them in a photo album. You get push the "work magic" button on your apple machine and make a book. We're supportive of whatever you want to do.
The final step, I suppose, is to deliver this to whoever you like. Maybe you send the link to all your friends, or mail the book to the most missed loved ones.
