I need to be honest with you. I haven't had a good idea in a few weeks. I mean, the wood burning car? Come on, that was an absolute shitshow.
Today though, I feel like I've redeemed myself. This is brilliant. And it's the kind of thing that all the networks will say, "There's no way we can do this. We can't admit we made a mistake!" And then someone will do it and will make millions upon millions of cold hard american cash.
What these networks need to do is take all the cancelled shows from a particular season or calendar year and put them out on DVD.
Because it's fall, the networks are rolling out new show after new show, most of them bad. But they'll draw a few viewers and those viewers will get screwed when the thing gets cut three episodes in. What was going to happen? Who was the killer? They'll never know.NowEverybody had the idea to add director and creator commentary to explain some of that mess.
These would be cool little time capsules for when you go, "Oh, remember that one show! I totally loved it but it only lasted one episode." You could break out the DVD set and watch it again.
Point Pleasant, Day Break, The Black Donelley's, Conviction, etc...I could go on. You'd have them all collected.
For the networks, it's a total winning situation. You recoup some money, maybe even rekindle interest in a dead show, and poke a little fun at yourself which is popular in this day and age.
