I going to give fuel to a fire I'm not sure I should be. You know how a band gets too big for you? And no matter whether they've sold out, bought in, or just been discovered...it just doesn't work for you anymore. Maybe it is when your 13 year old cousin thinks they're rad. Maybe it is them appearing on VH1 instead of MTV. Or appearing on MTV at all. Of anyone outside of you and your two friends having heard about them. The criteria are all your own. I don't care either way.
What I'm saying is that there should be some sort of formula. Like, you know, if they have 1) been played at least once a day on your local radio station and 2) some kid has a patch of their's on his backpack...you will no longer like this band. And that is that. No fuss or muss. Just that's it. Over. Done.
I suppose the point is that you know what level that hits for you and unless there are exterior circumstances you are quite certainly over it. Maybe this is a "know thyself" idea, or maybe it is just another way of automating the decisions you have to make day to day. I mean it to be the first and not that second. Think more, automate less.

good idea!
mine standard will be - when a band makes a shitty album - they get the boot - usually this happens under pressure from either the label or management to make the follow up hit.
i think our government should implement standards like this to our foreign policy as well.
