I watched a 49er game and all the flashbacks to what Bill Walsh did with their offense in the 80's gave me an idea. Walsh, and a handful of other folks, have been credited with revolutionizing the game of football by dramaticlly changing the way people did things. Instead of run first, throw deep, they started throwing short. It's way more complicated but if I'm already bored, I can only imagine how you feel.
But now what if you took this approach to relationships. That approach being, "everything else everyone's been doing, we're gonna do something different." People aren't going to get it. They're going to tell you it's wrong. And maybe it is. But if you think you can take a different approach and have similar or more success, then it's probably worth it.
So what would a 180'd relationship look like? Maybe it's an open relationship. That works for some people. Maybe you mess with typical gender roles. Maybe you move faster or slower (I pick slower). It should develop organically and it should fit both the personalities.
This gets back to what I was writing about regarding weddings: do we follow convention because we've evaluated it and it makes sense, or because it's convention?
So if you're struggling in a relationship, maybe it's time to throw short. Just think about.
