Text Test

Kids are all about the texting, right? I don't have any first hand knowledge of this, but if TV is a reflection of the real world, then yeah, kids are texting like crazy.

I've even heard that kids are *gasp* texting in class. So let's embrace this trend instead of fighting it. And we're going to do this by giving kids questions to answer to which they respond with a text. I heard of a school that has a game in the mornings where kids respond by email (to the principal...it's schoolwide) and the first one wins a prize. And that's cool. But not everyone has access to a computer. I'm guessing the majority of kids have a cell phone. And if they don't or it can't text then they're poor and I don't want anything to do with them.

I'm kidding. But those are real concerns I prefer not to think about in the idyllic world of ideas. I'd rather think about a room full of kids, phones turned on and on their desks. The teacher asks a question in regards to whatever they're studying and they all start furiously texting the teacher. First one in gets bonus points. Or a nickel.

Nickels are the new extra credit.
