It puts the fruit in the basket!

Today is Valentine’s Day. I am not a last minute person, and I don’t have a last minute idea that will save anyone.

And from what I can tell, this day isn’t really all that important to anyone who has a girlfriend/ boyfriend. Or maybe it is a certain type of person for whom this holiday resonates. Maybe it’s more important to the Cosmo/ CSI crowd. And there’s nothing wrong with that.

I still think it should be special. Even though “special” is hard to conjure up out of nothing.

But here is something you can do with relative ease but that can be quite fun. Bust out a double boiler or fondue pot and whip up some chocolate fondue. It’s actually really easy to do. Take your average bag of chocolate chips and melt them, occasionally adding some cream. Done. If you’ve never done this before, the next step requires the cutting of some fruit, and the putting of that fruit into said chocolate.

I think this goes over well with most people. I mean, it’s fruit and chocolate. I think most people like those things. And I was told once by a world famous chef that easiest way to cook is to just put good tasting things together.

So Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone, if no has said it yet.
