Multi-speed hipness

This is another one that I thought might only pertain to the ladies. As I scan my friend bank though, I feel like this might apply to everyone.

The idea is for you to go buy yourself a drill. It doesn't have to be expensive, somewhere in the $30 range. Just a little battery powered, hand-held number. Department stores sell them. Hardware stores, too. And let me tell you, a trip to your local hardware store can be an awesome time. Screw date night.

But anyway, get yourself the drill and a set of (again) inexpensive drill bits. You know; phillips, regular, maybe a few different size drills.

You'd be amazed how much you can accomplish with such a little tool. Putting together furniture goes quicker, you can hang pictures and shelves, drill holes to spy on the girls locker room...the list is endless.

It's low-tech for sure, what with the advent of fancy ipods and projector TV's, but it's the kind of device independent cats should own.

The reason I initially thought this might be for girls is that I read a pretty good article written by a woman who had bought herself a drill and her life changed forever. She became this DIY fiend and found a passion she never knew she had. She felt like every strong woman ought to own her own drill.

It's just a handy thing to have around, you know? Even if you never use it, just knowing you've got this in your tool belt means you're one step ahead of everybody else.

it's true. i did get into a sticky situation having to borrow a man's drill once. (and the man along with it). just to spice things up, i provided the stud finder.
