Virtual Humility

This idea requires a shout of to Douglas Adams who envisioned a device that would give you a realistic virtual experience of exactly your size and importance relative to the entirety of the universe and all existence. Ideally this machine was used to crush peoples' egos. What I am interested in is more on the order of giving people experiential access to different magnitudes of scale. Say you could not only see the world from the size of a bug, but also really feel it, including but not limited to minor gusts of wind that send you flying. Similarly, one good get a sense of scale about say, the sun, or the entire solar system and beyond. Or microbial. Or dinosaurian. Limits are endless, at least inclusive of a very large set.

I assume this type of technology will resemble in some manner the virtual reality machine they have long been tempting us with. I also assume these technologies will be developed by the adult industry, cause that's where the money and clear application is. Or I suppose the military to train people to kill. Something to that effect. Anyways, I'm into shifting perspectives and think this would be a neat venture in that direction. Might teach us a thing or two.
