This is very specific. Like, if you aren't into fishing, you can probably skip this.
I had this idea a few years back and it always seemed a little silly. For whatever reason, it seems entirely practical now.
Here's the thing: One of the problems regular anglers encounter is the loss of lures. They get stuck a lot. On weeds. On rocks. On corpses.
Ok, that last one was just unnecessary.
I'm proposing a lure that contains a small canister of highly pressurized Co2 so that when said lure gets stuck, you can "detonate" the canister and free your lure from its binding. I realize this lure would be wicked expensive to produce, given that it would have to have Co2 and a remote for the detonating.
And oh yeah, this thing is supposed to attract and catch fish, so you wouldn't want the explosion doing its thing on accident. That might create some headless trout. So it needs to be durable, lightweight, effective...
I wonder if they army has any existing technology we could borrow for this little project. They always think of all the cool exploding stuff first.
