After logging about 84 hours in my car in the last two days, I've had a lot of time to consider driving and what might make that experience better, or at least safer.
Which of course, brings me back to Star Wars.
In the first movie, I think, there is a scene where Han and Luke man these little guns on the Millenium Falcon and are shooting at tie fighters. But in order to target the other ships, they use these little radar grids. Well, god damn it I want one of those radar screens for my car. I don't want guns. Please, be serious.
But this screen would be so helpful to keep track of who's behind me and who's in front of me. Maybe it could even monitor how fast other cars are going so if they were to slow down or speed up quickly the screen might give off a little beep. It isn't that I'm not paying attention, it's just that sometimes we all need a little help. Especially in bad weather or scary conditions.
Oh, and dear lord, when people sneak up on the side of you! My radar screen would let me know.
But most of all, this would be awesomely cool. And that's pretty much the best reason for doing anything.
