What you're saying is very important

Someone pointed out to me that this was a "good idea." So, you know, blame them.

Do you ever have those conversations where someone is telling you something they find extremely critical and important, but you could care less about? Or maybe you've already dealt with whatever they're saying, but would rather just let them go on? This could be at work or at home when your parents just aren't understanding you.

Anyway, this is what I do when put in those situtations. I grab a notepad or piece of paper, and a pen, and I take very determined notes. I may even furrow my brow. Except I'm not taking notes on what they're saying. I may be scribbling nonsense, writing a to-do list for later, or simply writing how much I don't want to be having that conversation anymore. Sometimes I'll draw a cat.

Anyway, it works out for everyone. They think you're really interested and you get to pass the time.
