Where am I?

This absolutely already has to exist. If it doesn't, someone should be fired. All lifejackets and hiking shoes should come with a GPS or RFID tracking thingy.

The hiking one is pretty obvious. People get lost and being able to look at a map and direct rescue efforts based on what you see would be beyond helpful. It would save lives.

I'm against tagging everything, largely because the more people that can find you, the harder it is to disappear. And being able to disappear should be an option open to everyone.

Back to the lifejackets. Sadly, this wouldn't really benefit the people who were wearing said jackets. But if, god forbid, something were to happen to you, this would make location so much easier. Now chances are anything that keeps you from swimming to safety means something pretty serious has happened, and that sucks. But you don't really have to live through it. It's hard for the families who have to sit around waiting for news for days on end. It's horrible. This might alleviate that a little bit.

Ugh. Morbid idea. But one that might make things a little bit better for a few people. I promise we'll be back tomorrow with ways to make flowers grow faster.
