I do not want to start of a string of "let's bring this back!" as it could open a great many doors that are best left shut. However, there are two shows I feel passionate about, and can make a legitimate case for. This is the first.
American Gladiators. I can't even fathom that this was ever cancelled. And with all the cable channels these days, it's preposterous that their isn't a home for this. Do we really need to watch Fear Factor: Playboy Twins Edition? I certainly don't. The various challenges could be reworked, some deleted, and some added, but the basic principle would remain the same. It all comes down to the Eliminator.
This would be a perfect show for Spike! to air as part of its Sunday night lineup, no? And it would work on a season basis. The Tournament bracket would be established at season's start, building toward the final showdown. 16 men and 16 women makes for 20 episodes. That sounds like it's about a seasons worth. And hell, if you must, make them all live in the same house. That seems to be a thought that television people haven't sufficiently run into the ground with a dead horse.
You could even work in celebrity athletes for special challenges every episode.
This is like a giant pinata full of money and ratings hovering just above every television prodcuers head. But are they whacking it with their magic stick? No, they are poking Scott Baio and the Coreys, making them do tricks.

Holy crap! I seriously had this thought the other day! Bring back Storm and Diamond and all of them! Definitely need to rework the Eliminator though, the tennis ball cannon wouldn't quite cut it these days.
