Do any of you nerds play roleplaying games? Tabletop, or otherwise? You know how every character is given numbers that represent their attributes? I think you should do that for yourself as a self-exploration exercise. The categories, as detailed by D&D (the mother of all RPG's for a lot of people) are as follows: Strength, dexterity, constitution, intelligence, wisdom, comeliness, and charisma.
You can read detailed 'scriptions of each category here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_mechanics_%28Dungeons_%26_Dragons%29#ability_scores.
I forget exactly the range of numbers you're supposed to use, but let's just say it's 1-100. And average is 75. So if you think you're stronger than the average person, give yourself a score above 75. I can't imagine how any of us would really know if we're above or below average, but maybe just take a quick visual survey of the office or classroom and see where you fit in. Just go down the list and scribble a number in for each category.
Take an inventory of your artifacts, too. Maybe you have a really fast laptop that gives you +10 to your internet use, which I believe would fall under intelligence. And maybe you have some kick ass shoes that could add +5 to your dexterity, but are ugly, and detract from your comeliness.
Finally, assign a few special skills to yourself. Like maybe you're good at filing. Put that down.
So make up a little one sheet with a pic of yourself, your stats, your artifacts and items, and your special skills. You could do this on a computer or on a sheet of paper. Whatev's is handy. Actually, there could be a whole nerdy social networking site devoted to this.
If there is any shred of nerd left in you, this will resonate. Promise.
