Objectionable Love / Oh, malleable you!

Sometimes I write a lot of posts about one thing and then another post to really sum it up in a grander philosophical sense. Just a little window into the mind of an idea blogger and prep for today.

Objects are things too you know. I've had thoughts about this stewing around for years. Things about how we interact with the things around us and how they can be incredibly in the way or incredibly pliable and ready to hand. But all objects have a way in which they can be handled and a way in which they can't. Animals and people are like this too, only way more complex. One could make some interesting points about how the interaction with our think boxes (aka computers) is much more like the interaction with an animal or another person than how we'd come to get used to interacting with more inanimate things.

I don't really have any helpful tips for the best ways to approach objects. Nothing about how to really understand where they are at and how to interact more effectively. But the point of today is something like entering into the relationship with the object in a very pliable way. I have the innate sense that the best way to approach learning is to make yourself as adaptable as possible to the potentially mangling environment. Is this buddhist or something? I can't recall.

So what I'm really saying is that maybe you could not creep up on an object, puppy or person but more like roll over on your belly and sort wait it out a bit.

And once you've gotten to know the thing you can really go to town. Rock out and what not. New dictum? Know thy things. Why not?
