Meditation Practice

When I was in my younger, wild Taoist days I experimented with a little thing called meditation. Sure I didn't do it very often, or very well, but I think I saw some benefit from it even at my paltry attempts.

So what I'm going to ask today is simply that you sit still with your eyes closed for thirty minutes. I will bet you will feel like twitching, or opening your eyes. Maybe from boredom, maybe from irritation with me, or anxiety. But I'm telling you, stick with it. Just sit and let the mind wander away.

Thing is, your mind my race or wander or go blank. But I think all of that is good. I think carving out a moment in your day to really see what happens or is happening in your head is really useful. I even think you should sit cross-legged on a pillow or something. Do whatever makes it comfy for you.

So go for it. And then check back in, cause I'm going to write a sequel to this which is, as Ben would say, totes next level.
