Impossible goal Tuesday

In which Nate returns...

He's back for this post, and then one more. This is an odd, second introduction. It's almost as if I called him onstage, you heard his speech, and now after a pause, we're caling him back.

I will take this opportunity to spend more precious words on Nate. It was once said of him that when presented with new information, it's like they took the top of his head off and just dropped everything in. Such is his ability to grasp new concepts and lessons. We should all be a little jealous of this. I firmly believe he could do anything in the world. No field of study is beyond him. And yet, mastery of some cold hard facts is not his journey.

He'd rather give you a hug.

Every Tuesday, set your mind to something. OK Wednesday, or Friday, it really doesn't matter. Tuesday works for me. Whatever you set your mind to must be impossible, or at least way beyond your reach. Really out there stuff. Nothing physically impossible like flying or time travel, but something that you can not do. Then spend the day trying to do it. In your spare time or after work, or before work, or quit your job.

A few examples of past goals and their results...

Get U2 to break up: didn't work, they're still crapping it up all over the world, but I found out that they have about 700 'official' fan clubs.

Become pen-pals with Scarlett Johansen: No go there either, but she could respond any day now...

Become a Senator: I'm considering this one a push - I'm going to retry on election day.

You get the point. Go nuts. Take those crazy dreams you've always had and make them happen...or at least give it a shot.
