So I shot a shotgun for the first time the other day. We were shooting at moving clay targets, and hitting them was incredibly satisfying. The biggest problem for me though, was when I missed I couldn't tell where I missed. Or by how much. Was I high or low? Left or right? It was tough to make adjustments.
So the idea is to somehow treat the bullets with a gas or dust or something so that they leave a little trail as they fly through the air. It wouldn't need to last long, just a few seconds so you could see where the hell you were missing. This seems like it might be possible. I would hope it could be done in such a way so as not to impact the performance of said firearm. This is one of those times where I assume smart folks can make it happen.
I have to admit it was fun. Definitely more fun to hit them than to miss them, and I really didn't get much joy out of holding the gun. It was stressful. I kept worrying about where I should point it, how I should it, etc. But actually hitting a moving target? That was cool.
Now I just need a little help. And I'm sure a lot of other beginners might appreciate the concept.
