Stealing, but like in baseball

Say what you want about professional sports, but we could all learn a lesson from them in terms of how much they prepare. They watch so much video to gear up for an opponent, it's ridiculous. Now, in the business world, video on the people you're dealing with isn't always readily available. But information is. And it would make sense to accumulate that information and have it on hand.

Big companies may already have this position, come to think of it, but what I'm proposing could have a fancy title like associate information management. They'd be responsible for doing research on competition and colloborators. The more you know, the better decisions you can make. And so much information is available, there just needs to be somebody to get at it.

I've been embarassed by being unprepared, and I've had folks be unprepared on the other side of the table. It slows down the whole process, especially when you're trying to coop on a project that will ultimately help both of you. And really, I probably don't have the time to do the research myself, though I should really make the time.

So this could exist as in interior position, or as a consultant position on the outside. It would have to make sense financially for both sides.
