Two months...we want two months

This is Ciana's idea that I am blatantly thieving, expect for the fact that I'm giving her credit for it right now. October should be two months long. October is rad and is the quintessence of early Fall. In October you go from the early, just-becoming Fall all the way into the very depths of leave change and chimney smell.

Now I don't mean to discount the glory that is November (aka Thanksgiving month). The Nov likes to rock it bright and cool. Blue skies and chilly ass temperatures that October just doesn't have in it. And that is the point. We could really optimize the whole Fall onto Winter feeling of November if we just cropped a bit of its front end and handed it over to October.

And September? Back to school month? No. Taking half of that month whole sale with no apologies.

Added bonus of this is that the all too even month structure would get shaken up. Why out of no where should you have two half months and a double month? No idea, but it might wake some people up, change some people's habits. Plus it will give the enfeebled February some much needed company.

By day sixty of October, you'll thank me.

Why not a metric calendar. 10 months, problem solved.

i was thinking, on the other hand, that we just bump it up to 13 months. october takes 2 of them (regular october plus half of what used to be september and half of what used to be november), and the rest of the months stay the same, enfeebled february and all. october will just be part 1 and part 2...with the very appropros sum of thirteen total months!
