Urban Wine Program

I think this may be our 300th post. I will leave it up to you to decide what that means. I certainly think it's a good thing.

Anyway, here is a naive statement you may disagree with: good grapes for good wine can be grown anywhere.

I realize that geographic location plays a humongous role in how wine is ultimately perceived. But I would imagine some amount of that is hype. I think with the right love, care, knowledge, equipment, and engineering, a world class wine that rivals the world's best could be grown on a rooftop in downtown LA. I really believe that.

And you may call that naive, which is your right, of course.

But let's try this, shall we? Let's take a high school class in LA and give them all the tools they need, including a super knowledgable so and so to guide them. Their goal will be to grow grapes and turn them into wine which is then bottled and served at some school fundraiser.

I bet it turns out good. I bet it turns out GREAT.

Because you know what? Those kids want it. They want it hard.
