Have I mentioned I think weddings are selfish?
Because I do.
And it's okay if you don't agree with me, no one does.
But here's a way for me to address the selfishness issue. Picture this: The bride and groom stand on a patch of grass with all their loved ones in front of them. With me so far? Okay. Behind the bride and groom and religious person are stacks of lumber on concrete slabs. The two get pronounced man and wife, everyone cheers, and then everyone starts building houses. I mean, the number of people at a wedding makes a pretty impressive workforce, don't you think?
I would imagine a hundred people could get a fair amount of work done in a day with the right guidance. So you'd need to partner with someone who could direct people and pick the right tasks for folks. I think it'd be funny to see a lady in a wedding dress putting up drywall. But that's just me.
An alternative to this could be everyone helping to clean up a section of coast line (beach wedding!) or a park or something.
And after the day of work you get everyone together for the reception. I'm sure we'd all be hungry after a long day of work. Everyone would have definitely earned a night of dancing and open bars.
