I think yesterday may have been our 500th post. We're pretty big on ceremony and commemorating milestones around here.

So, if I were to use online dating services, I wouldn't want the feature I'm about to propose. But some people might, and if I've learned anything about anything, you should give the people what they want.

I don't understand why dating sites don't allow/ encourage/ host first "meetings" via services like skype or the like. It's almost like a video conference. It's kind of a step between that initial phone call and the first meeting. If anything, it's just an extra security step. You can see the person and make sure they really are who they say they are.

And because talking to someone on the phone while looking at them is pretty awkward, it might make the first meeting less so. And that's good for everybody.
