I could look up the average attendance of a baseball game, but I'm lazy. My guess is it's somewhere around 17,000. Now while some stadiums have a lot going on before the game (like batting cages, carnival games, etc) a lot of them don't. Especially here in Oakland.
I get it. It would be expensive to buy all the equipment and then hire, train, and pay new staff.
But I don't see why they couldn't treat it like all their other concessions. Bring in someone to manage it and that company would pay a percentage of what they make to the stadium. It's new revenue. And who doesn't like that?
Plus the fans win out because they get lots of new game-day activities that aren't the game.
