Volunteer Pay

For someone who rarely does it, I sure write about how you should volunteer a whole lot. Deal with it.

Anyway, I was just thinking how dreamy it would be if in addition to the vacation and sick time that employers typically give, it would be great if they gave everyone a week of volunteer time. Companies could write off the time and they could boast about all the community service they provide. The reality is only a small percentage of people would actually use it but could brag about it all they wanted.

And for the employee, it's great. This way you can go and do some really needed, bigger scale projects and not have to burn through all your vacation time.
