Bloomsday Honors

Today is Bloomsday. The day where people all over the world who like Ulysses or whiskey celebrate by reenacting the events of Ulysses (which "happened" on June 16th 1904) or drinking whiskey. Point is: people liked a book and now a solid 80 some years since the book came out people are spending whole days of their lives year after year enjoying it.

I'm going to hazard the guess that Ulysses isn't everyone's favourite book (it isn't mine, but I do think it is one of the best books ever written and I do love it). But you should create a day, or a thing of some sort, to do for your favourite book! Something that gets the community of people who share a love for your book together for a party. There are endless ways to make this happen, It could be the celebration of an author or of a specific book. You could even celebrate a movie or a painting if you wanted. Just get out there and make a party out of art. Art and community go hand in hand.

Or at least they should.
