A compilation of famous artists worst songs they've ever written, all together on one record. Sure it'll be awful, but isn't that sort of what loves songs are all about? I feel like this, especially produced by people of real talent would lay bare some real truths about love. The triteness of sentiment, the god awful heartbreak that leaves you feeling pathetic or dead. You know?
I'm sure there are some real gems out there. The idea came to me while listening to the Collin Meloy solo record when he plays "Dracula's Daughter" an unfinished song that he claims is one of the worst he's ever written. And it actually is bad.
But here is the thing. It was still sort of listenable. And again, I think love songs would be even more so because they are inherently bad, or better when they are badder and more true.
