Lane for strolling

I'm going to dip my dirty fingers today into the murky pool of city planning. I live in an odd town. It isn't quite a suburb and not quite a small town. It is certainly no city. My town is apt for my plan, but I think this has to be pushed onto the city planners of future towns. Cause this probably needs to be down primarily up front.

I want strolling style walkways. And I want them to go where cars don't go. This means lanes that meander through parks sure, but also a little alley way between two rows of homes or a block of businesses. It isn't much. It sounds simple. But when I was young there were a few of these sorts of city paths that you could walk down and like up to your friend's front door, or over to the store. All without cars.

So yes, this is a call for alleyways. And yes alleyways are notorious for crime. And why? Because cop cars can't get in there. So send them in on bikes or on foot. I don't care. No cars. And the point might also be made that if you work to keep these nice and maybe a little well lit and actually effing use them as little thoroughfares....well then....maybe they won't turn bad in the first place.

Just man. This world is lame and we have got to stop not doing things cause it could potentially suck if things went wrong. Jesus.
