Repertoire

You know how there is always a band or two out there that you know you'd like if you just listened to? That all your friend's listen to and love, but you've never given a serious chance?

Well now is that time. But not for bands. For foods! I am suggesting that you research a food that you've heard of put never really eaten consciously, or made ever. This can be anything, but I'm thinking primarily a fruit or vegetable. Like, say you've heard a lot about parsnips and rubarb, but you're not really sure who they are or what they do.

To start, get your internet research engine going. Look into a couple of different foods and see if they are your cup of tea. For me, if it is starchy (but not sweet) I'm sure to be down. So parsnip it is. Make sure you're not getting into anything you're guaranteed to hate. And then go and find two or three recipes you might like to try.

Once you've done all that just buy up some of that food stuff and get to cooking. If after three dishes and a sense of how it works in different foods, you still don't like it, it's dead to you. But at least you've tried something new. Go you!
