I spent today listening to lots of fishing stories, several of them being about folks who lost rods and reels when they dropped them. It's the nineties...that seems silly.

So the idea is for an air bag type device in the handle of fishing rods. You drop it, the sensor senses it's underwater and the airbag deploys, floating it back to the surface.
