Teacher software

This kind of already exists as track changes. But let's take it a step further for teachers, shall we? To cut down on the amount of paper used in a typical class, this would allow students to turn in their work online. There'd be a deadline, of course, but you could still accept the work. I guess this works best for essays, but it could really be done with anything. Once the assignment is turned in, the teacher can open it and review and grade it. They can also leave comments and make suggested edits. It would all be very simple. Highlight an area, type your comments into a box, submit them and they show up on the page. Then they save the grade and edits and students can access it via their profile on this site. Maybe this is almost like a teachers assistant application on Facebook? I guess that might work. Students could post questions and get notes and help and review their grades. If they wanted to make the grades public then they could do that, but they wouldn't have to.

I think if an entire school embraced this it could really take off. Students would always know their grade and teachers would have an easy way to perform several tasks at once without the pile up of paper. Other than getting it started, there's no downside to this. None.

Also, this was one of the ideas that started as something...and then turned into something else. But I think that something else is better. So I'm not to sorry. Hopefully you can bear with me though.
