Window Puzzles

I'm having a hard time imagining why this would be a good idea, but I think it would be pretty cool. It might have some applications in the real world. Maybe you can tell me what they are?

So the idea is to divide a window into four separate parts. Each section of window would be entirely distinct from the other sections so that you could unclip one section, two or three sections, or all four sections and open up the window entirely. And you'd actually remove the piece of window. But because then you'd have to put it somewhere, it can either clip onto a window section that's in place, or one that's been removed. So if you took all four sections out, you could clip them altogether so they wouldn't get lost. Or clip them onto another window in the house you aren't messing with.

You'd have to tweak it so this was still a secure window. Having four pieces means it might get a little wobbly in the middle with a frame. So maybe you add a removable frame.

But this would give you the freedom to open the left, right, top, or bottom portion of window. Something you definitely can't do now.
